All competitions will be based on the 1st Chapter of Bhagavad Githa - Arjuna Vishada Yoga.
 
Elementary (Grade 1 and below)

    Participant Guidelines And Rules
     
  1. Bhagavad Gita Chanting: Elementary participants must recite all the slo:kas from 6 to 10 in Ch#1.
Intermediate participants must recite all slo:kas from 11 to 20 in Ch#1.
Higher participants are asked to recite the slo:kas with meaning of choice by the judges from the slo:kas 11 to 20 in Ch#1.
Judging Criteria: Participants are judged based on the clarity of pronunciation, fluency of chanting, general presentation skills including confidence.
  2. Coloring: A drawing based on Bhagavad Githa theme will be given to the participants at the time of the competition. Please bring your own coloring material (crayons/ color pencils, etc. NO MARKERS PLEASE).
Duration: 30 minutes
Judging Criteria: Participants are judged based on their knowledge of the topic, creative and imaginative use of colors, neatness, and overall skill.
  3. Quiz: Participants will be asked questions based on BhagavadGitha. Teams wil be formed by the judges at the competition venue.A drawing based on Bhagavad Githa theme will be given to the participants at the time of the competition. Please bring your own coloring material (crayons/ color pencils, etc. NO MARKERS PLEASE).
Duration: 30 minutes
  4. There will also be a fun on the spot BhagavadGitha theme interactive Spelling Bee for all the kids. No trophies will be awarded for this event.
  5. Attire: All participants are highly encouraged (but not required) to dress in comfortable traditional Indian attire for the competition.

  1. Businesses/Firms can display Banners on side walls and distribute Flyers - $100
  2. Businesses/Firms can display Banners on the front wall and distribute Flyers. The sponsor will be recognized and invited on to the stage to distribute trophies and certificates for a category - $200
  3. Donations for the event can be made in any amount towards the sponsorship of venue, flowers, prasadam, trophies, etc.
